QCloud Engineering Blog : QCloud is hiring

QCloud TV, our media/entertainment technology upstart is hiring. We are aiming to change the way your home entertainment systems work. 

We are a 3 member 9 member team and funded by some of the best names in the industry.

You will work with me (ahem) and other founding team members in creating the best TV technology interfaces for the Indian market. 

We are expanding our software engineering team and currently looking for a junior level platform engineer who is passionate about designing, creating and delivering highly scalable distributed services. 

We will use agile engineering practices to produce well factored code covered by a complete set of automated tests. You’ll be expected to produce well tested quality code and work closely with non-technical product owners to deliver business value.

Ideally, you would have

  • a BSc/BE degree from a ‘good’ university
  • a love for agile and lean development methods
  • internship experience
  • worked with 1 or more non-traditional programming languages OR worked on open source projects

Experienced backend engineering position

As mentioned above, we use agile engineering practices to produce well factored code covered by a complete set of automated tests. You’ll be expected to continue producing well tested quality code, build the backend engineering team and work with the business to define requirements and scope. The technical stack is Postgres, Ruby on Rails, HTML5, Javascript with testing done in rspec and jasmine. Previous experience in these technologies is not essential but valuable.

Ideally, you’d have been a lead engineer on a public rails site before and have:

  • a BSc/BE degree from a reputable university or significant production experience on well known applications
  • Experience with and a love for agile and lean development methods
  • Ability to manage scoping and requirements gathering sessions with non-technical business people
  • A track record of shipping code.
