One student/faculty from AmritaU wrote to me this, after my talk.
Hey
I happened to be at TEDxAmrita today and I was totally looking forward to your talk because i did a background check on you and all that. Your twitter..facebook..blog. So your one liners were rather repetitive.
Your talk was a major disappointment. It didn’t even register that the theme of your speech was ‘Burn the Map’.It got lost amidst all the bullshit. I felt the need to tell you all this after i saw your tweet about it. You are very well in that delusional area of your venn diagram if you think it went well. The general opinion was that you are an arrogant anorexic freak. You did come across as one. And not just to the ones who took the ‘infy’ suit placements. Girls do like crazy men but it would be rather hard to find one who will buy the the attitude that comes with your craziness.
Better luck next time. Just a bit of ‘constructive criticism’.
Thanks for this mail Miss. KS, I’ll work hard to make some sense; next time, if any.
And, apologies if i come across as a cocky-arrogant-SoB; I think I am. I love what I do and I dislike people who don’t have the balls to create something when you are designed to build something. I hate them.
[When I was discussing your mails w/ my friend, she said this “you are an idiot :) who in indian society tell us to do what we CAN do ..rather than what we should do?”]
And I hate it more, when I trust your abilities. Because as an entrepreneur turned VC, my job is to back people who are ‘so unreasonable’ that you’ll change the world oneday. I hate people like you because ‘you don’t get it’ - and I blame you and the people around you for that.
Miss K.S; if you are a faculty member and didn’t understand the meaning of “Burn the Map” - Its so sad (for your students)
FYI: those are not cheezy lines to gain publicity. They are the truth and we millions of entrepreneurs are the living proof of it.
Moral of the story:
1. Girls do like crazy men
2. Ask if I care
3. Don’t go to ‘non-entrepreneurial’ colleges
4. I was very successful in pissing off suits, lazy people and some not-driven faculty.
5. The world needs more kids who can yell “the king is naked”
